Update from the President
The Roof News
Negotiations are complete with the Council, Builder and Insurance company, we have go ahead for the tower and the roof replacement, this will commence in August. We need help to re-locate various items from the members area as the roof in this part of the building is also being replaced. See working bee below...
Working Bees
It is that time of year where we need some help to get things in order for the next sailing season. First cab off the rank is to move all of the pictures, trophies, chairs etc from the members area. The following week will be the work boats then the training boats a fortnight later
Sun 1st August 9:00am - help required to clear out the members room, remove hohour boards, photos etc
Sat 7th August 9:00am - work boats - Safety gear check, paint Harry Flints trailer, replace valves and pump up tyres on training boat trolleys, inspect training boats for repairs
Sat 21st August 9:00am - Yacht Club Working Bee
New Tables
The tables are here! On last Saturday morning the three new tables arrived. Many thanks go to the volunteers who helped get these new table upstairs onto the balcony. The guys who turned up Saturday morning were; Peter Whybrow, Quentin Hildebrand, Barry Cady, Steve Gannon, Lindsay Simmons, John McGrath and Russell Turnor. Once again, many thanks to Peter Whybrow who generously made and donated the tables to our club.
AGM 2010
Hi folks, we're pleased to announce that the AGM is over and the new committee has been elected, A special thanks to Ray Layton who has been our president for the last two years. Steve Read is the new preseident with Ian Newman as the Vice President, all committee positions are now filled. A special thanks also to our outgoing treasurer Christine Wilson and Barry Wilson, and to Jim McAlinden who headed up the training for many years. Congratulations to Bob Kaegi who was voted in as a life member after 27 years of help in the sabot training.
